I've checked my motherboard owner's manual and found the key for the boot codes but it doesn't explain what B6 relates to. What I meant when i said "the motherboard reads." is that my motherboard has an LED display that also shows the boot codes directly on the motherboard and while no codes get hung up on the screen, the motherboard reads that it is stalling on code B6. Several codes do flash in the bottom right corner but it cycles through those without a problem. It does not display a code when it gets hung up. Sorry about that, like I said I'm new to the whole process so my terms and information may be a bit lacking. Tell us what code is displayed when it hangs.Īlso please list the rest of your system's components, OS version info, e.g. You should see letter and number combos like "A2" and "B99". ![]() Look in the bottom right corner of your screen during the boot process and you will see the "BIOS Boot Codes" flash as your BIOS goes through the boot process. What do you mean by "The motherboard reads Post 1: B and Post 2: 6."? This is the first rig I've built and I'm not really sure where to go from here. The motherboard reads Post 1: B and Post 2: 6. When I boot up my computer which is running on a MSI Z87-GD65 motherboard, it keeps getting hung up during the post process.
